Day 11 and 12

As promised, here is a picture of me from the Great Gatsby Mary Kay party. I got to wear my dress that has been lying in wait in my closet, so that was nice. I'm not very good with make-up, but it was fun! The black pearls that Boyfriend brought back from his cruise in April go wonderfully with the dress! It'll definitely have to make a comeback at some point! Probably not for London, but hopefully for something.

Day 11: What is your favorite quote?

Asking me to choose a favorite quote is about like asking me where I want to eat. I simply can not for the life of me make a decision! My facebook about page is swirling with quotes, and let's not even get into my tumblr. There's too many wonderful ones, but I suppose I'll share some of my favorites.

"Everyone wants stuff. We wake up everyday with a list of wishes a mile long and maybe we spend our lives trying to make those wishes come true, but just because we want them doesn't mean we need them to be happy."  Pushing Daisies

"Nothing is written in the stars. Not these stars, nor any others. No one controls your destiny." Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West

"Some of us get dipped in flat, some in satin, some in gloss... But every once in a while, you find someone who's iridescent, and when you do, nothing will ever compare." Flipped

"What you say or do doesn't matter; only feelings matter. If they could make me stop loving you - that would be the real betrayal." 1984

"You see, I feel sorrier for you than I do for him. Because you'll never know the things that love can drive a man to: the ecstasies, the miseries, the broken rules, the desperate chances, the glorious failures and the glorious victories. All of these things you'll never know, simply because the word 'love' isn't written into your book." Stark Trek

"Human beings are simple, predictable cliches. Broken hearts, betrayal, it's all been done a billion times before. The problem is, every time still hurts like the first. And if you're lucky enough to recover, you can be sure that just as you finish filling in all the cracks in your life, the next one is starting to open." Dead Like Me

"There comes a point when you just love someone. Not because they're good, or bad, or anything really. You just love them. It doesn't mean you'll be together forever. It doesn't mean you won't hurt each other. It just means you love them. Sometimes in spite of who they are, and sometimes because of who they are. And you know that they love you, sometimes because of who you are, and sometimes in spite of it." Laurell K. Hamilton

If you haven't seen The Name of the Doctor, please kindly skip past the next video of my favorite quotes and move onto Day 12.

No matter how many times I watch this scene, I can't get over everything that happens in the three minutes posted. This scene pretty much made the entire episode what it was. I would have almost been content with this being the entire episode, I'm aware there were other good moments but this just makes me so happy. This whole scene I just watch like this:

End Spoilers.

Day 12: Screenshot your desktop.

 I'm not obsessed...I'm not obsessed...I'm not...

Ah screw.

At Least I'm Trying?

I know I said once a day. I also know that work has been more tiring than usual with these longer hours and when I get home I really just need to zone out for a few hours before I realize all the things I probably should've done instead of zoning out. Then I say I'll wake up early or do it later and I never do. My summer attitude is here to stay! Anyways, tomorrow I'm going to a Mary Kay Great Gatsby party. My friend's mom asked me to be her face model tomorrow! She said I had striking features, and that she'd been meaning to ask me for like...a year so I couldn't say no. Also we get to dress up, and I have a 20's dress I've been dying to wear ever since buying it on a whim. Maybe I'll post pictures! We'll see. At the very least I'm getting free cupcakes and a facial, so I'm not complaining!

With a little less than a month left, I'm going to need to kick it into high gear if I want to finish, so I'm going to start doubling up. Is that cheating? Possibly, but I really want to finish!

Day 09: Pet Peeves

I've thought about this one long and hard and decided on a few.

1. When people eat loudly. It bugs me. I don't want to hear you eat, keep your mouth closed and no sounds are made. It's not too terribly hard.

2. I'm a delivery driver, and it irks me to no end when people don't tip. Now, I don't work only off of tips so it really shouldn't bother me as much as it does, but come on. You didn't even have to leave your house or work.

3. Extremely happy people bug me. Not like...average happy but overly enthusiastic people. Think cheerleaders. I'm not asking for everyone to be miserable all the time, but there are times where you bright and cheery attitude is not welcome. Generally anytime before noon is a bad time to be peppy in my general direction.

Day 10: If you could only live off of one food and one beverage for the rest of your days, what would they be?

For food I'd definitely have to choose sandwiches. I wouldn't specify the type of sandwich, just so I could continue to have a variety of foods. If I got bored with one kind of sandwich I'd be able to move on to a different one. I get too bored easily with my foods and require a bit of change every now and then.

For beverage I'd go with good old fashioned H20. Water is apparently vital to survival or something, and it's quenches my thirst easily. I know, I'm being terribly sensible right now. Instead of giving me that look you should be proud of me! At least I didn't say chocolate and soda!

Day 08

Today I finally broke down and purchased me a new computer. I'm still breaking it in, and am debating on names. Right now I'm torn between these names:

1. Vastra

2. Clara/Clara Oswin Oswald/Oswin

3. Zeus.

Though it's only the first day, I haven't quite gotten to know it yet. So I'll wait to name it until we are better acquainted. If you have any name suggestions just leave a comment!

Day 08: Three things you want to say to different people.

Oh goodness this one's going to get a bit touchy, I can already feel it.

1. I promise I will some day move out of the house when I am financially able to do so on my own. Until then, I appreciate you for putting up with me on a daily basis. And occasionally cooking if I ask nicely enough. Also for not immediately sending my dog back to the shelter after I purchased her without telling you.You guys put up with a lot of things most other people would probably have shut down real quick. Thanks guys.

2. I'm sorry. I know things didn't really end all too well between us, but we had a good run. I'm sorry I outgrew you, and you refused to accept things that you didn't have any power to change. I'm sorry you thought you needed to change them. In the end, this is probably for the best.

3. If you can't afford to tip your driver, don't order a sandwich. Also, if you are never going to tip and make the effort to get to know me outside of work I will not give you the time of day. You are not allowed to randomly stop me in class and tell me I look nice in a dress. I don't feel bad I made an A in the class we shared and you made a C. Stop ordering sandwiches and go somewhere.

That wasn't nearly as bad as I figured it was going to be, however I did do some heavy editing on what I originally typed out. Le sigh. Some things are best kept to yourself and not all six followers on your blog.

Thanks for listening!

Day 07

We're continuing on this trend of posting once a day, even if I only have seven minutes left of this one! Let us continue with my journey to  once a day blogging with......

Day 07: Do you read? What are your favorite books?

Okay, so I used to read a lot. And when I say a lot I mean a lot. I was one of those kids that couldn't be torn away from a book. I genuinely enjoyed it. As I grew older, my time for reading grew smaller and smaller as I devoted my time to silly things such as sports, and choir, and orchestra, and friends. I still enjoyed it though.

Recently Boyfriend and I have began reading more. It was his idea at first, and then I followed suit figuring that I could once again enjoy it. Now, I still don't have much time for it but I renewed my library card and I am working on reading all of John Green's books. Right now I need to finish Lucille Ball's biography and then I can continue on my journey of reading.

Some of my favorite books include:

The Green Book by Jill Paton Walsh. It's a child's book about Earth dying and a group of humans traveling on a ship to a new planet to settle. It was my favorite as a kid, and I would love to reread it again someday soon.

The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. I actually enjoyed reading this book during my high school years. Let's not get into my opinions about the movie. We'll be here all night.

The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas. Another one I enjoyed reading in the 8th grade. I actually went out and brought my own copy after reading the school's copy, that's how much I enjoyed this one.

The Perks of Being A Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. This one practically speaks for itself. It's a lovely book, though I'm starting to realize a trend with small green books being on my favorites list...

The Help by Kathryn Stockett. I'm going to be honest, I saw the movie before I read the book. I loved the movie so much I knew I had to read the book, and it quickly wiggled its way onto my favorites list.

The Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. I grew up with these books. When I was about 7 years old, my Aunt read to me out of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone during a tornado warning. The power was out and I had an overwhelming fear of tornadoes and severe thunderstorms. (I think this stemmed from watching The Wizard of Oz early in life but I digress). I was hooked immediately into this magical world and haven't turned back since.

I'm going to stop now, as I feel that's sufficient enough for today/yesterday.

Thanks for listening!

Day 06

London is ever growing ever closer and I'm beginning to get a bit nervous about the whole ordeal. I'm still very excited, but I suppose back in January it was just one of those unattainable goals that I'd set and now it's all finally working out. I know for sure I'll have fun, but it's in my nature to worry about the silliest of things, so I just simply go with the flow and acknowledge that everything is going to work out fantastically!

Back to our challenge:

Day 06: What band or musician is most important to you?

This question is a bit of a tough one, as I have a very wide spectrum of what I listen to and find important. There was a small part of me that wanted to write a sarcastic blog post about how much One Direction meant to me, but honestly even pretending to write about that was a daunting prospect so I decided against it.

Instead I'll write about my top 3 that I can think of at the top of my head.

1. Murray Gold.

He is the music director for the revamp of Doctor Who. Ever since 2005 this man has been pumping out beautiful songs like a well oiled machine. There was even a special event DEDICATED to his musical score for Doctor Who. This man is a genius. I respect him, and admire him and wish I had his amazing talents. Thankfully, I can listen to his beautiful music via Spotify or youtube.

Melody Pond

The Mad Man With A Box

The Song From The Rings of Akhaten

2. Fun.

I've always really enjoyed this band. I love most of their songs and they make me really happy. They're particularly important to me because of a particular song called The Gambler. I'm not really sure if it's because if I could have the life described in this song I could live happily or if because the piano is amazingly beautiful. But I love them so...

The Gambler: "Even if the sun stops waking up over the fields, I will not leave, I will not leave 'till it's our time. So just take my hand, you know that I will never leave your side."

Yes I just used a Doctor Who fan video...this is a no judgement zone here. Besides, I like it when people combine some of my favorite things to make fantastic things.

Carry On: "May your past be the sound of your feet upon the ground, carry on."

3. Kate Nash

Look how cute she is!! Gah. I love her so much. She's delightful and British, and her songs are some of my favorites. The one that really got me hooked was Foundations, as I found it at a time in my life where my best friend had a boyfriend that wasn't quite good for her and so I secretly listened to this song to know it would work itself out. Sometimes it was not so secretly, but things are well now and they did, in fact, work themselves out. Maybe that makes me a bad person, but it helped me and we could laugh about it later. Also, another song that really helped me out a lot during my teenage years of unrequited loves was The Nicest Thing. It's a slightly less upbeat song, but it's cute in its own sad sort of way.

Foundations: "And every time we fight, I know it's not right. Every time that you're upset and I smile, I know I should forget but I can't."

The Nicest Thing: "I wish my smile was your favorite kind of smile. I wish the way that I dressed was your favorite kind of style. I wish you couldn't figure me out, but you'd always want to know what  I was about."

I could keep going, but I have six minutes left of Monday. And I'm sorry I couldn't pick one, but they are all important to me. There are still some that I didn't even get to mention that are important to me. But this will do for now. It's time for me to sleep now.

Goodnight and Thanks for Listening!

Five Places You Want to Visit

We're back in business. No, I don't yet have a computer. But I'm using my parents lap top...which is kind of the same thing but not really. I'm still vigorously saving for a new one before the London trip, but we'll see how it goes. I'm going to try and continue this "posting once a day" thing, however it'll probably just be the weekdays that I post. I've recently begun a vigorous new work schedule in order to make the moneys.

So without further ado:

Day 05: Five Places You Want to Visit

1. A Car Boot Sale in London.

Okay, so I've looked into a few of them, and they sound like the British version of flea markets. Some cost to get in, others don't. But I do want to go to at least 1 while I am in London. I wanted to go the the Sunbury Antique Market, but it's only open on Tuesdays so I'll have class. But it's okay! I have a list of them favorited on my lap top, so I'll look into more of them when we get there.

2. Harry Potter theme park at Universal Studios

So the books ended a while back, and the movies only ended recently, but that does not stop me from still being a big Harry Potter fan. Maybe not as much as I used to be, but I will always be one at heart. Not everything can last 50 years like Doctor Who. And so, I would like to someday visit the theme park of my childhood some day.

3. Disneyland

I openly admit that I am very much still a child in a twenty year old's body. I went to Disney World when I was in the 8th grade as a class trip and had a fantastic time! I had just found a love of roller coasters (not too scary ones, but I mean...I can handle my roller coasters) and it was a great time. I'd love to go to its counterpart in California.

4. Mexico

I'm uncertain if it's for the bragging rights or the fact that it would make fantastic jokes in the future, but at some point I feel it's a right of passage I need to make. I'm not too sure if this is me just crossing the border to say I did it (I do have a passport!) or if this means going on a fantastic cruise and seeing it that way. It just needs to happen.

5. Venice

No, not just because of the one episode called the Vampires of Venice. It would be fun! Italian. I could ride in a gondola!

Anyways, as I was typing this up I realized that I'm taking off two big parts of where I want to go with this trip i.e. London and Paris. I'd also like to someday explore both France and The United Kingdom more thoroughly then I will get to in this one month, so it's definitely going to be worth the return trip, however I feel that I should post places I haven't been or won't be going to in order to keep things fresh!

Thanks for listening!

Unfortunate Accident

I have some bad news that makes me horribly sad. My lap top had an accident involving an open window and a almost empty up of tea. I won't be able to update as often as I was planning, and I feel awful as I need a lap top to take with me to London!

I'm currently in a frantic search to find a new one at a reasonable price, as I've already given up on Claude despite all the things we have been through together. If anyone knows a relatively cheap option, let me know please! It's only been a day and I'm already cringing at having to use my parent's laptop.

Thanks for listening!

Day 4

I've been doing really good for the past 4 days! I'm especially proud because I've also had to deal with school, and I'm still posting.. Not to toot my own horn or anything...

Also, this is a shorter day of explanation, so I figured I'd give you all some exciting GIFS. Also we have a London meeting today! So that's exciting too! Now I suppose onto the challenge:

Day 04: The meaning behind your Tumblr name/blog name

I figured since it was so short of a task I could do both. That doesn't mean you should go out find my tumblr. But you can, if you want. I like having followers, it makes me feel special even if I just reblog a bunch of stuff. Apparently people think I'm funny or I have a good sense of humor? Or I reblog a lot of Alex Kingston, it's anyone's guess really.

Tumblr names:

Well, my "blog's" name is The Impossible Astronaut, and that's really a tribute to River Song. See? Simple.

My url, for anyone interested in following, is Now that one's a bit more interesting. I used to be really obsessed with Wicked. Yes, I was one of those thirteen year old fangirls. In my defense, it was my first taste of musicals and eventually allowed me to delve into other stuff. I didn't just stick to the one. So thank you Wicked for helping be grow. Now that that's been said, there is a quote when Elphaba comes out for the first time with her sister Nessarose and meets the head mistress.

Madame Morrible: You must be Nessarose, what a tragically beautiful face. And where is- [Turns to Elphaba and screams]
Elphaba: I'm the other daughter, Elphaba. I'm beautifully tragic.
I don't know why, but I really liked how the words just switched around. But you can't get any usernames with beautifullytragic or tragicallybeautiful, now can you? Though I must say I would've preferred the former as opposed to the latter. So my brain thinks, well, Glinda's song is "Popular" what if I combine that somehow with tragic. Popularlytragic. Tragicallypopular is not a correct representation of my life.

Now for Allons-y. That one's the easiest of all. The word itself is French for "let's go." How I came to know this was through Doctor Who. When making a blog about going to London, it's the only thing that made sense in my brain.

So that's it then! Day four is completed, I might blog about the meeting, but we'll see how it goes.

Thanks for listening!

Day 3

Day 03: My Day In Detail

Well let's see. I woke up at about nine-thirty after having a weird dream about London. Didn't actually get to London, just the awkward packing moments. It was a bit weird, though I wanted to stay asleep because this was my last Wednesday of going to class, and then going straight to work for six hours and then going to my night class. Wednesday's generally suck. I went to class and discovered that River Song in the season finale is apparently Post Library River Song!

For being in a computer for so long she sure looks fantastic!
Then I proceeded to zone out during class and try and figure out how River could be out of the library. There were lots of interesting ideas on tumblr. Though I'm not really getting my hopes up that this is a permanent solution as Moffat is evil and has already given the clue that it's basically going to be like one giant funeral the whole episode. There's a part of me that wants to say that this River isn't going to be quite the same River that we all know and love. Another part of me is just really excited to finally see River and Clara interact, cause the hand holding's cute but I want to see how the Doctor treats Clara once River's back in the picture. Also, I just have this gut feeling River's story isn't going to end well at all, so yeah. Forever the pessimist here.

After fan girling about that for the whole class I went to work. The guy named Ben who had long hair got fired today because he was lazy and annoying. Instead we now have tall Jason who is a touch awkward but nice I suppose.  The first part of the day was relatively slow. My first delivery I didn't get tipped on, but for most of the morning I was just happy that I was going to get to see River Song again in a few weeks. It wasn't until about two-thirty that things started picking up. Ironically, I had decided that I was going to stop by Chicken Express on the delivery right before all hell broke loose. After that, every time I returned to the store I had at least three deliveries at once. I almost ran over a biking Mormon who drove in front of my car. I saw the same Mormons later on my adventures and waved but they ignored me. Rude. I talked to some Mexicans at a car wash, which took much more time than it really should have to find the guy who actually ordered. Finally, I get back to the store and there's no more deliveries with only twenty minutes until it was time for me to go. Adriana brought Shelena caramel chocolates, and shared them with me. I made a sandwich because, up until this point, I had not eaten all day however I had already promised friend Jennifer I would go out to eat with her after my night class. Usually when we go out to eat after night class I've shoveled down the biggest sandwich at work I can tolerably eat, with chips and a cookie. Today I made a small sandwich and only ate half of it in preparation for dinner. Before I got off work, I changed from my uniform into my polka dotted dress with this new belt I got at an estate sale that is perfection and boots for my presentation in night class. I made a good chunk of change in tips, so that was nice.

I then went to the school and talked to some kids in my night class about all the presentations we had to give. Trent, the guy who sits beside me, was freaking out because he hates giving presentations. I was a bit nervous, but no more than I usually am. Finally my teacher gets there and I am the first to present. She said my dress was cute! This is a huge compliment mainly because she always comes in dressed all fancy and adorable and generally when I went to that class I looked like A. I had just pulled myself out of bed from taking a nap or B. Just gotten off of work and looked awful. So that was nice. I gave my presentation. It went well. Trent gave his, he was a bit nervous but he did alright. We got our research papers back and I made a B! This is exciting because I wrote this ten page research paper the night before! Procrastination skills level up! At the end of class, there were still like...four people who had to go so I stayed behind to listen to three of them. At 7:10 I decided enough was enough. I already had my research paper and there really was no reason to stay. As I was leaving, Trent asked me where I was going as we only had one more guy left. I said, "I've got to go, but it's been fun!" snapped and did my gun pointy thing (that's the only way I can describe the hand motion, it's not actually a gun it just looks like it) and left. It felt like I was breaking up with him. That was fun.

I then had a very enjoyable dinner with my friend Jennifer. She caught me up on all of what was going on in her life and I caught her up with mine. I had Spasagna. I then came home and laid down and got on my computer to type this up. Oh! I just realized I have a mini-assignment due tonight before midnight! Gotta go! Be back tomorrow! Hope this wasn't too terribly boring, but I did get into detail! That's good!

Thanks for listening!
